Just a few minutes from Villa Nibela is the Church of St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki the Wonderworker which dates back to the 17th century. During the Turkish slavery it was destroyed by Kurdzhalians and was rebuilt again in 1836. with a donation from local founders. To the right of the entrance, high up in the building is a stone with the year 1836 carved in it. At the beginning of the 20th century (1937). next to the old church, a large new church was built, bearing the same name - "St. Dimitar". The church is located not far from the city center. In its construction architectural elements taken from the ancient temple in the area "St. Nicholas Monastery" were used.
